We will start here because I am happy to report that I am living my happy ever after now with the real love of my life, Bill. But, the road to here was not easy. In fact, it was often rough, rocky and steep to say the least. Perhaps you will find something in my life’s experiences that will be useful in your life. I really hope so.
Cinderella, Cinderella, wash the dishes, make the beds. Cinderella, Cinderella, do the laundry, iron the cloths and don’t forget the pets need fed.. Now I don’t mind hard work, but the division of labor in our home sucked!
So what do you do when you are the only daughter growing up with three brothers in a dysfunctional family? A family that you loved, but dysfunctional all the same. Well, at the tender, young age of sixteen, yes, sixteen, I convinced my parents I was “in love” and would die if they didn’t let me marry the twenty-one year old man who I said will be the one and only love of my life! Now remember, we were dysfunctional…so of course, they signed for me to get married. Who does that? And, guess what? I wasn’t even pregnant! No, in fact, it was not until five years later that I would adopt my first daughter, Katie, who made my life complete,at the time.
And so that began my unique entry into motherhood. I say unique because little did I know at the time, that this beautiful baby I adopted when she was just three days old, would with my help as her coach twenty years later, deliver my second daughter, Shantel. Now, Shantel is the daughter that taught me what life and motherhood is really all about! If you are interested, stop by tomorrow, and I will tell you all about how she came to be my daughter and how her special needs made me stronger than I ever thought I could be.
