A Beautiful Part of My Life

Is practicing my Roman Catholic faith, and a beautiful part of my Roman Catholic faith, for me, is experiencing and participating in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and receiving the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist or Holy Communion. Today, I also received another beautiful Sacrament, the Sacrament of Reconciliation or Confession in the beautiful new confessionals just recently installed in our Church, St Anne’s Roman Catholic Church in Gilbert, Arizona.

This is a copy of the picture on St. Anne’s website showing our beautiful new confessionals. I couldn’t get as good of a copy as I wanted and this doesn’t begin to give the justice it deserves, but I hope you will get the idea just the same.  The picture inside the arch is that of Jesus as the Good Shepherd, and the words carved into the arch say “With Eternal Love I Have Loved You, With Mercy I have Drawn You To Myself. Jer.31:3” How beautiful is that? It makes me warm all over just to say those words, and what a fitting entrance to the confessionals.

Every week our church has a Solemn High Mass that varies in times so all parishioners have an opportunity to attend without changing their mass time. Today, the Mass we attend, 7:00 a.m. was a Solemn High Mass. All the candles on the altar were lit. The priest used incense in a beautiful ceremony to bless the altar and the tabernacle that houses the Holy Eucharist, and the full choir sang the entire Mass in Latin. Funny, that I can’t speak conversational Latin, but I can read, understand, and sing the entire Mass in Latin.

For me, nothing centers me, moves my spirit, and stirs my soul like participating in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and receiving the Sacraments of my Faith. This is such an important part of who I am. I love the deep, rich, traditions and ceremonies of the Roman Catholic Church. Yes, I’m a Spiritual person, but I’m also a devout Roman Catholic and I’m so proud to have my Roman Catholic Faith play such an important role in my life. For me, nothing else feels so right.

Today’s Solemn High Mass was so very moving to me, and the Sacraments of Eucharist and Reconciliation just deepened the entire experience. I thought it was beautiful, just beautiful!

Stay Tuned!

You described it so beautifully. I feel the same way and love my faith. It gives me such a overwhelming feeling when I am at Mass celebrating the Holy Eucharist. The presence of My Savor feels me with such joy it is hard to understand that it is only a small beginning of how glorious and full of grace it will be when face to face with God. I am so thankful for my faith in God and our beautiful ceremonial services.
