Jimi Hendrix had a hit song called “Wild Thing”…
Well, I found some wild things that made my heart sing on Friday when one of my BFF’s, aka, my frissy, and I spent the day roaming through one of the most fascinating, and fun places, Merchant Square Antique Marketplace, that just happens to be located right in my Chandler neighborhood. This place is filled to the brim with wild things that will make anyone who appreciates vintage anything heart sing… It’s an antique and home decor super marketplace. I discovered this gem of delight Friday almost by accident, when mine and frissy’s plan (A) to go hiking needed a plan (B) due to rain. We quickly decided we are really good at having fun no matter what we are doing… and, oh what a fun-filled day we had!
Just look at this one of a kind flying pig yard art treasure I scored;
If he doesn’t bring a smile to your face, and put a song in your heart, I doubt anything could..I love him so much, I’m trying to decide on the perfect name for him. Some of the top choices are: Oscar, Arnold, or Oinky and I would love to hear from you on what name you like best of the choices listed, or if you have a unique name for my very unique pig…I would love to hear your suggestions…:) My husband, Bill, aka Bro, wanted to know how I know he is a boy and not a girl…well, let’s just say when I ran out of the Merchant Square Antique Marketplace to take him to the car…I put him on my head to shield my hair from the rain and that’s how I know…enough said right? You should have seen the look on people’s faces when they saw me running in the rain with my flying pig on my head! Just look how adorable this little yard art pig is:)
But, Friday was really my LUCKY day because I found another “wild thing” that spoke to me and also made my heart sing and it was love at first sight when I came upon this unique chicken bowl that has a new home on my kitchen pub table…who wouldn’t want this smile maker greeting them when they walk in?
I LOVE this little gal…
I know for sure she is a gal, and not a rooster, because she laid the most beautiful eggs I ever saw…
Frissy and I spent hours looking through the Merchant Square Antique Marketplace and hadn’t even made it half way through the inside when we decided we needed to go get some lunch (they also have a very highly recommended hot dog place in the marketplace), but since it was Friday in Lent, I suggested we go get fish taco’s, which we did then came back and spent several more hours making our way through the rest of the inside of the marketplace…And, as if the inside wasn’t enough to rock your vintage world…., OMG…they have an outside section that is equal in size. But, due to the rain…,we had to leave that for another day…However, frissy and I both agreed we just don’t think vintage shopping can get any better than this so…”WE’LL BE BACK”!
Stay Tuned
