Dog Days Of Summer

If you follow my blog, you know I LOVE summertime here in sunny Arizona. The hotter the better!!!

So, how do I like to spend my “dog days of summer”? Well, here are but a few of my favorite “dog days of summer” things:

Ice cold watermelon.

Grilled, fresh, corn on the cob.

Big, plump, frozen grapes. OMG, these are sooooooooo good!

As much pool time as I can possibly fit in.

And, of course, happy hour’s on the patio…keep that yellow tail cold…and, life is good at my house. 🙂

I give thanks everyday for all the simple pleasures I’m blessed with, they help make the “dog days of summer” just that much sweeter.

But, as “they” say… “all good things must come to an end”… and like many moms, I’m gearing down summer, to start gearing up for the new school year.

My daughter, Shantel, starts back to South Mountain Community College on August 19th. That means changing my morning routine, to accommodate driving her to school, which is approximately 23 miles, one way. Lucky for me, Shantel takes dail-a-ride home.

Also, starting this Thursday, I will start working with Shantel to show her landmarks in her route to her classes so she can navigate her new class schedule. We will practice the route 4-5 times a day, 2-3 times a week, until school starts.

In addition, Shantel has two doctor appointments and a dentist appointment before school starts. And, of course, we still have to pick up her brailled books, and the special needs paperwork for her instructors. Then, in our spare time we still have our volunteer work, and my weekly visits to my mother…

With all that going on, it would be easy to get stressed out…But, no, not me, I’ll just keep smiling and thinking about all those fun-filled “dog days of summer“… 🙂

Stay Tuned!
