NYC/Vermont – Part One

Yes, I have to post my New York City and Vermont trip In parts, because there was just so much to see and do, I couldn’t fit it all into just one post. 🙂

I arrived in NYC at about 4:00ish in the afternoon on September 19th. My frissy welcomed me into her home with a glass of fine champagne to kick off thirteen of the most fabulous days I could have ever imagined. We sipped champagne and caught up on all that has happened in our lives since we last saw each other. Then, we decided to walk down to the Hudson River, which just happens to be practically in frissy’s back yard, and one of my favorite places to walk, and/or sit, enjoy the views, and people watch…

I find it just so very relaxing to be beside the water of the Hudson River. And, you just never know what kind of free, special event, you might come upon. Like a live play being played out all along the river walk. Notice the dancer inside the big apple ring.

And these dancers danced all the way up and down the river walk.. how fun is that?

I so love watching the little tug boats pushing the big barges up and down the Hudson River. And, when the lights of New Jersey start to come on at night, the views are spectacular!

After the sun set, we went home, had dinner, drank wine, and chatted the night away…

The next day, on our way to Central Park, I captured this photo of the Dakota apartment building where John Lennon lived.

Inside Central Park is like stepping into a dream. It’s hard to believe this beautiful, lush park, is located in the heart of a concrete jungle… But there it is, in all it’s splendor, and frissy and I were right in the middle of it all…..

Again, this beautiful wonder is practically in frissy’s backyard… What is not to love about that?

BIG bonus for me when I go to NYC is that we walk a lot, and it’s a lot of up and down hills and subway stairs, like A LOT.., so I get much-needed exercise when I’m eating and drinking outside my normal limits… 🙂

On day three, our girlfriends, Megs and Audrey arrived, and the “REEEEL” fun-box party began…!!!

Stay Tuned!

A friend has a daughter who goes to NYU and one of my favorite things to do is walk along the Hudson. Looking forward to reading the other chapters. Champagne welcome is a wonderful start to a visit
