Of the ten-day countdown for our daughter, Shantel, moving into her own apartment.
Today was the day to get the house ready for the moving out party tomorrow for our daughter, Shantel. In addition, Shantel had several appointments/things lined up that she asked me to help her with… She wanted to go to Walmart for her weekly supplies… then, she had an appointment to get her nails done. Look how cute? What looks like silver next to the black in this picture is actually rhinestones her nail tech took the time to glue on one by one…
Then, Shantel had her eyebrows waxed. Shantel has very thick, full eyebrows that I think look beautiful untouched…but, she wants them thinned and arched… so that’s what she got. I think they did a good job.
After the nail/eyebrow appointment, of course Shantel wanted to stop by McDonald’s to pick up her lunch. Quarter pounder with medium fries and a Oreo McFlurry.
When we arrived home, she asked me if I would polish her toes to match her nails which I did since we have the same nail polish at home that she used on her nails minus the black and rhinestones… 🙂
Since tonight will be the last “calm” family Friday night Shantel spends in our home before she moves out (she gets the keys to her new home on Monday and next week will be a flurry of helping her move into her new home so who knows what we will have for dinner as a family, if anything…) I asked her what she would like to have for dinner. She asked for homemade chicken tacos. So of course, I cooked the boneless, skinless, chicken breast, shredded it and added her favorite “hot” taco seasoning mix. I chopped green onions, black olives, tomatoes, and shredded the lettuce all her favorites (Bill/Bro and I add reduced fat cheese and light sour cream to ours…) Everything is ready to just assemble…
We are all looking forward to spending time with family and friends tomorrow at the moving out party for Shantel. I always told Bill/Bro when Shantel decides to move out on her own… I pray it will be a happy occasion where we gather with family and friends and wish her well together letting her know how much we all love her and how proud we all are of her… She is, and always has been, my personal HERO since the first day I became her mother…
I love you Shantel,
MOM
